Commission To Conduct Rigorous Audit Of Haitian Government Oil Purchase

Composed of the heads of the Corruption Fighting Unit (ULCC) Rokefeller Vincent, the Central Financial Intelligence Unit (UCREF), Michelin Justable and the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) Wolf Dubic, the Commission for investigation held its first meeting with the press as part of the official launch.

An important step according to the Haitian Prime Minister, Joseph Jouthe, who says he is counting on these institutions to be able to shed light on this case because the State has lost billions of gourdes in the space of 10 years by subsidizing and financing the oil companies.

“In addition to the shortfall, when prices reach a peak on the international market, the State which not only renounces taxes, finds itself obliged to finance the oil companies in order to keep prices constant at the pump” Jouthe said. Continue reading.
